Condition Assessment and Repair Recommendation for an Industrial Slab.
Although built with sufficient thickness and conventional reinforcement, the industrial slab developed significant cracking and spalling within weeks of completion, indicating deeper structural or material issues that required immediate assessment and remediation.
Early Cracking in Industrial Slab
Prior repairs failed soon after repairing the slab. We investigated the root cause of cracking and spalling by performing load deflection testing, coring, and performing concrete microscopy.
Condition Assessment
Repair of the Slab
After performing visual inspections, we monitored the contractor’s work of epoxy injections in the slab cracks.
Completed Repair
The cracks and the joints were repaired. The end result was excellent repair which have been performing well for the past several years.
